WHO: Prim and OPEN
WHERE: inside the city
WHEN: April 7
WARNINGS: Probably none, but will update as needed.
SUMMARY:
[She wasn't convinced that this wasn't a game of the Capitol, in order to get at Katniss. Her sister was a prominent figure in the resistance, everything lied on her sister's shoulders. Prim understood that made her a target, and assumed that she had finally been called upon to be in the games at last. There weren't any scheduled, but didn't doubt what Snow would do in order to get at her sister and the rebellions going on in the districts.
Which meant that as soon as she crash landed in her pod she jumped awake and escaped, hurrying her way from the crash site through the forest to try and take cover. Unlike sweet Rue, who had been in her sister's first games, she wasn't a tree climber. And after spying things that looked remarkably like mutts she took off at a run, not stopping until she had come to a city's wall.
It was easy enough to find her way inside, but what was waiting for her left her speechless and confused. She couldn't find a sign of any other people here, not a single one from any of the other districts. If this was a way to put her in the games to get at Katniss, wouldn't there be other people here?
That thought didn't last for long, because by the time she got well enough into the city, it wasn't long before the creatures she had seen before came at her. They looked like ferocious mutts, ones who would tear her apart and eat her if she let them. Their smell was even worse than their appearance, which made her recoil back and away from them. She tried running, but didn't make it far before she was cornered and only had the option of climbing up a tall chain link fence to try and make it to safety.
When she reached the top of the fence, she turned to try and sit atop it, ignoring the discomfort she felt She knew that if this was one of the Capitol's games, she would need to play along. She needed to give them what they wanted to see. Be convincing in her fear and her need for her sister, and maybe they would end this. Or send the mutts away, at least. Locking her feet in the fence as best as possible, she moved to stand up on wobbly legs.]
Katniss!
[She screamed as loud as she could, which only seemed to attract more mutts out of nowhere. She repeated her sister's name in a series of shouts, and watched in horror as more and more mutts showed up without any mercy. At this point, she would need to attract the attention of another person with her shouting. Some of the mutts were getting close to being able to grab at her feet, and all she could do was stomp at their hands and glance behind her.]

Inside the city, following the trail was even easier. Because the walkers were heading right for the person. Which ended up being a little girl standing on a fence and screaming her lungs out. Obviously whoever she was, she didn't know nothing about walkers because she just kept on yelling and drawing more and more to her.
She was goddamn lucky one side of that fence butted up against the wall of a building Daryl was able to make his way to. And goddamn lucky none of the walkers close in to her seemed to be runners. Hell, as close packed as they were, the slower ones might have actually been blocking the faster ones.
Daryl didn't make any noise until he was on the roof above the end of the fence. One of the many ropes they had being pulled out of his bag and slowly lowered while he hissed at her.]
Hey! Shut the hell up!

Her eyes left him then, and went to watch that lowering rope. The second it was close enough, she reached up to grab hold of it and began pulling herself up. She was rail thin and had no upper body strength, but was able to climb up it enough that she felt like she wasn't going to fall.
Down below, the mutts seemed excited by her dangling and she took in a deep breath to steady herself before looking back up at the man.]
Do you think you can pull me up, please?

[Daryl ordered, still keeping his voice low. Though the walkers were definitely aware of another presence even if they couldn't see him as well as they could the girl while she dangled like bait on a fishhook.]
Try to lock 'em so's you don't slide down.

I think I'm locked in place, maybe.
[She wasn't sliding down, so she thought she was alright.]
Try pulling me up so we can see.

How're you doing?
