Despite what she might have thought, Daryl's question was an open ended one that everyone got a say in. Including her. When she answered, he took it just as seriously as he took Bucky's. Her joke got a snort, though, and twisted his lips up in amusement that he'd be reluctant to acknowledge if anyone pointed it out.

As she made her way to him, he lifted an arm to settle behind her back. Not quite holding her too him, but keeping his fingers lightly in contact with her. He still wasn't sure what she was capable of in a fight. And if anything jumped them while they discussed options, he wanted her close enough to protect.

"Ain't no place safe," he answered softly, seriously. "But there's safer. This just ain't it."
